Application Profile: Patient ID Labels Where: Hospital admissions departments and for use with everything associated with the patient in a health care setting Description: Dozens of patient ID labels are printed at the admissions desk and sent to the nursing station on the floor the patient is on. The patient's wristband is applied and then all lab work, drugs, etc., are identified with these same bar coded labels. Prior to administering drugs, the wristband and drug are both scanned to ensure a match. Labels are also collected and applied to all lab specimens to confirm proper patient identification.
