We get lots of inquiries from people who have Brother fax machines which are printing only half of the page (vertically).  Either the left or the right side.  Usually the customers think that the problem is caused by a defective print head (which costs around $150).

But the good news is, the problem is usually much cheaper to solve.  It is caused by a hairline crack in one of the blue latches that hold the printhead down.  Unless you know to look for it, it's easy to not see the crack.

Latches are available individually but we recommend buying a pair (because when one latch goes out, the other will probably not be far behind).
